Metrash2 mobile application has revolutionized how the service of the Ministry of Interior is being provided now electronically. It is being widely used by the public to complete transactions in the shortest time duration without having to visit any nearby service center thereby reducing the hassle in service providing.
As per Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Maliki, Assistant Director-General of the General Directorate of Information Systems, people and companies can avail more than 200 services through the Metrash2 mobile application which includes all the general services for which people had to visit the service centers.
The Metrash2 mobile application’s success can be assessed from the statistics that show that it had a great run since its launch. In 2020, the application was used prominently for availing services such as vehicle licenses, registering national address, renewing residence permits, visa extension, and paying traffic violation fines. The other new services for which Metrash2 mobile application has been used are for
1.Replacing vehicle plates
2. Writing off vehicles
3. reporting criminal complaints in security departments
4. Adding newborn to the national address
5. as well as for getting travel notifications.
Since its launch, the number of users of Metrash2 Mobile application has crossed 1 million marks while the number of completed transactions reached more than 2.3 million in the year 2020 making it one of the widely used mobile applications in the country. The total inquiries made about the services on the platform also exceeded 5 million showing its deep penetration in the lives of people.
The ministry has called for people to use the Metrash2 application to reduce time and get the services electronically. “The Ministry of Interior invites all concerned individuals to subscribe to the Metrash2 app to avail its services and transactions to save time and effort complying with the precautionary measures announced by the State to prevent the Coronavirus,” read a statement from the Ministry of Interior.
